It's taken Beth a long time to get over Pierre Laroche, and now - just as she starts the fight of her life to stay in control of her beloved Barossa Valley winery - he's back. But this time it's business - the takeover business!
Beth knows she should hate Pierre - he had come, after all to take away her winery - but glimpses of the man she loved ten years ago can still be seen under the cynical businessman.
As the sun sets on the beautiful Barossa Valley, they begin a journey of discovery into the past...and as the sun rises they glimpse the future they could share...
With famous wines, a lively heritage and more than fifty wineries, the Barossa Valley is everything you'd expect of Australia's oldest wine region.
When my husband surprised me with a romantic weekend in the Barossa to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we drove among vines tended by the region's 500 grape-growing families - many of them sixth-generation - and I recalled a news report on an
attempted winery takeover by a multinational conglomerate. Until then, I hadn't considered the effects of such a takeover on a community steeped in tradition. This was where the story of Beth and Pierre began.
In real life, these stories don't always have a happy ending. Luckily, I could make sure this one did.

Foreign correspondents who travel to the world's most dangerous places see more than most people would see in ten lifetimes. When their courage is combined with values, and a genuine desire to disclose what the world needs to know - not to entertain, but to find words to make sense of things - when they have the ability to engage people of all walks of life and treat them with respect, these people are true heroes.
But it's a lifestyle that takes a toll - one that can have far-reaching effects on a person's life. It takes a special kind of love to heal the heart of someone who's lived this life. I wanted Luke to find this special love with Della, and I hope you'll agree that he deserves it - that they deserve to find it together.
